what could be lost “smaller file size”(Loop 202 maps)
Today, February 20, 2013, the Gila River Indian Council and the people of Gila River once again defeated the Loop 202. For the greater Phoenix region this ultimately means the push for the freeway to go through South Mountain and off the reservation will possibly be considered more by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) now.
With that said, where is this off reservation route going to be proposed? Within the following pages we (the “No South Mountain Freeway” group) have organized maps of the route from the ADOT webpage. We have also included a bit of background information regarding the freeway. While we plan to add more and work to make resources such as these more accessible to the Ahwatukee/Laveen we find it urgent to share this information now!
We hope to support those directly in line of the route more in the future. If you have any questions regarding the process of identifying the route and communicating with ADOT please feel free to e-mail us:
